3rd PlAgri COST Workshop


After 1st and 2nd successful implementation of the Workshop on plasma applications for smart and sustainable agriculture in Romania and Slovakia, it is time to announce the continuation with the 3rd annual workshop, which will take place in the beautiful alpine scenery of Gozd Martuljek, Slovenia (Hotel Špik). The workshop is organized by the Slovenian Society for Vacuum Technique.
The workshop will be held from May 14th–16th, 2023, and is joined together with the 8th International Conference on Advanced Plasma Technologies (ICAPT-8), which will be held at the same location from May 16th–18th.
The meeting will represent an excellent forum for the presentation and discussion of new achievements in the areas covered by the Costa Action CA19110 “Plasma applications for smart and sustainable agriculture”.

  • Low-temperature plasma treatment of seeds
  • Low-temperature plasma treatment of plants
  • Plasma treatment of agricultural wastewater, growth media, manure and production of PAW
  • Applications of plasma processes and technologies in food industry

ABSTRACT

Participants must submit an abstract via email to info@dvts.si. Abstracts must be written in English. The length of an abstract should be 300 words. Please do not insert any images.
The invited speakers will be renowned scientists selected by the International Program Committee.

REGISTRATION

All participants are required to register.

The 3rd Workshop attendance fee and payment conditions:

  • Invited, regular, student attendance fee: 580 EUR (single room) or 520 EUR (double room)
  • Accompanying person fee 520 EUR

The 3rd Workshop attendance fee is all-inclusive and includes accommodation in the conference hotel (3 nights), full board, and social events during networking on 15th and 16th May.
Upon registration, participants will be able to attend scientific sessions (15th and 16th May), have refreshment breaks, and receive the conference program, electronic abstract booklet and information materials.

If the participant is also attending the ICAPT-8 conference, the attendance fee and payment conditions are:

PlAgri CA19110 Contribution reimbursement grants

A limited number of reimbursement grants is available for the participants of the 3rd Workshop on Plasma Applications for Smart and Sustainable Agriculture. In order to apply for the COST reimbursement grants that cover travel and daily allowances in accordance with the COST rules and PlAgri MC decisions you should fill out the registration form and submit your Contribution by March 20th, 2023. Registrations and abstract submissions (contributions) made after this date will not be taken into consideration for reimbursement grants. The evaluation will be done according to the COST policies (gender balance, Young researchers, ITC countries etc.) and rules.
The main criteria will be the quality of the submitted contribution, topic and connection to the PlAgri WGs. Additional points will be assigned according to the following criteria:

  • 1 point to members of the PlAgri CA19110 Action
  • 2 points to participants from the COST ITC countries
  • 3 points to submitted contributions as oral presentations selected by the core group
  • 4 points to young researchers or innovators

In the case of a tie, gender balance and representation from different countries will be considered. The following categories are exclusive, so only one will count for the total score: a) Oral presentation/poster presentation, b) Member of PlAgri / Member of the Management Committee. COST Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs): Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Republic of North Macedonia, Republic of Serbia and Turkey.

Liability

Organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents, nor loss of or damage to private property of participants, either during or directly arising from the 3rd Workshop on Plasma Applications for Smart and Sustainable Agriculture. Participants should make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance.
